Overall decided my average 7/10 Welcome 10/10. The check in staff were great. Very friendly and had accommodated my requests. A great start. Room 7/10. Fundamentally OK. Bed was fine and things worked and was clean, but there are no power sockets by the beds, no alarm clock so your phone as an alarm is the other side of a strange room. No USB sockets anywhere. The toilet didn’t have a toilet brush. No welcome documents. Room Service 1/10. No menu. A stupid QR code, but it’s on the cardboard with your key. If it wasn’t too late I would have left at this point. I don’t expect to have to provide suitable technology to be able to order food and drink. Then on using the code I find that the staff can’t provide the things on the menu, not due to shortage but because the hotel doesn’t have those facilities. Even after that it was a farce. A pint of Diet Coke and a packet of salt and vinegar crisps became a bottle of Diet Coke and a bowl of chips (with no salt provided either on the tray or in the room). My second meal cared little better and arrived essentially cold. Sleep 7/10 the bed was comfortable but the room got some outside noises. Better glazing perhaps. Other guests were also a problem and front desk didn’t answer the phone to resolve the issue. Breakfast 6/10 not a bad offering but fell short in a number of areas. - bacon was back bacon but cooked as though trying to make American style crispy streaky bacon so tough, dry and leathery. - American style pancakes were thin and floppy and looked like the batter was too thin - hash browns were soggy not crispy but on the positive tasted good - no summer fruits/berries for yoghurts/ cereals.

I’ve stayed here a few times and the staff are always great - friendly, welcoming, helpful. For previous stays I think I’ve been put in a more modern room - because the room I was in for this stay felt incredibly dated and a bit dark and glum - there was also a musty smell that I haven’t experienced in the hotel’s other rooms. It was comfortable and I slept well but the rooms just need attention to bring them to the more relaxing, contemporary standard you might expect from a Holiday Inn.

Could not be more accommodating ! Abi the operations director checked me in, at short notice, room clean all amenities as expected, huge TV, many ways to contact the hotel for food, information etc, everything you’d expect. The location is excellent and the recent refurbishment does this place justice. You just cannot go wrong. Would recommend to anybody looking to visit weather for business or pleasure, solo, couples business or family. Thanks again all, I will be back! Kim R.

I brought my grandson here for a 3 night stay to see london. Firstly I picked this hotel because of the safe, nice, quiet area. Secondly for the close proximity to transport. Being close to great portland street and warren street tube stations it was great. The hotel itself was lovely. We arrived early and our room was ready which was a big surprise , I had informed the hotel I would be arriving early but still never expected the room would be available. The girl on reception was very friendly and helpful, infact all the staff were lovely with a friendly welcome when encountering any of the staff. The room was fine, we had a nice view of the bt tower from our 5th floor window. Plenty of hanging space also safe and iron and iron board if needed.Ok the bathroom could do a bit of an update but was clean and functional. We slept very well as it was quiet , no noise from corridors. Breakfast was good and again staff were lovely . On the whole for the money I paid and with the central location I found it great . Would recommend.

A perfect stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was immaculately clean, and my every need was met. I slept very well! Breakfast was delicious - full selection of cooked, cereals, bread, pastries and fruit, etc. and even a pancake machine! I also ate in the restaurant two evenings and had excellent food and service both nights. Staff are very attentive, and food appeared quickly and freshly cooked. If I had one tiny reflection, it would be to provide decaf tea bags in the room. They had them at breakfast so I probably could’ve got some if I asked, but I always wonder most hotels provide decaf coffee but almost never decaf tea!
